About CricketWise

CricketWise is a cricket statistics site. It answers specific questions fans ask: the average first-innings score at a ground, how a player has done against a team, who scored the most runs in a season, and how two teams compare head to head.

Where the numbers come from

Every number is computed by us from ball-by-ball match data published by Cricsheet under the Open Data Commons Attribution License (ODC-BY 1.0). We do not copy statistics from other websites. The full definitions are on the methodology page.

Because the numbers are calculated from the data, every page shows:

• how many matches a number is based on;
• the date range covered ("Data through …");
• a note when coverage is incomplete. For example, Cricsheet starts in the early 2000s and does not publish matches involving the Afghanistan men's team.

What we do not publish

No live scores, fixtures, pitch reports, weather, player biographies or photos. The data does not contain them, and we never make them up. We do not publish betting odds, tips, predictions or fantasy-team advice.

Independence

CricketWise is an independent site. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cricsheet, the ICC, any national cricket board, league, franchise or team. Team, league and competition names are used only to describe the matches in the data.
