Economy rate calculator

Calculate a bowler's economy rate from runs conceded and overs bowled (cricket overs notation).

Formula

Economy = runs conceded × 6 ÷ balls bowled (overs converted from cricket notation).

Worked examples

  1. Deepti Sharma: 3,358 runs off 3,228 balls in T20Is = 6.24.
  2. James Anderson: 18,015 runs off 39,001 balls in Tests = 2.77.
  3. 32 runs in 3.4 overs (22 balls) = 8.73.

How it works

Economy rate shows how many runs a bowler gives away per over. It matters most in limited-overs cricket.
